Cause/Effect, Problem/Solution, Compare/Contrast - "The Learning Network blog from the New York Timesrecently posted some great examples of how text structures can help convey complex information. You'll find downloadable graphic organizers and "signal words" that cue readers to structures such as cause and effect, compare and contrast, and problem-solution.
A special thank you to Maureen, Ashley, Reta, Janice, and Shauna for volunteering to collect exemplars for CC outcomes. I will be in touch once school is started. It would be great if I could get a few more volunteers, so if you are interested, let Arlene Low at Davidson know!
